Okay, Im looking for a new graphics card for christmas. Contsraints are:
-$300ish, maybe +/- $50.
-AGP
I want to know if you guys have any good suggestions. I also want to know why, though. "IT HAS LOTZ MB IN ITZ!!!" is not a good reason to buy it. My initial thought is a GeForce 7800 GS, but if anyone suggests something different, let me know.
P.S. Jack, you're going to have to really work to convince me to get a Radeon, GeForces have worked great for me

X1800 GTO. Best AGP card out to date, and the ONLY high end graphics card that still supports AGP with all the features of the PCI-E version.

The Radeon X1950 PRO agp that is mentioned is now available at around £150-£170($250ish?) and is far superior to any other option that is available within the current market, although it is a royal pain in the buttocks to get hold of.
Failing that, the next best option will be the Geforce 7600GT.
Avoid the GS version of the Geforces series as they generally have cut down cores.
