Already read the books (have first editions of both), so no doubt will be hugely dissapointed if I do go and see it when it releases in the UK.

i loved the books and it seems that most movies based on books don't completely suck, it might be neat... its just the GIANT plot changes that bug me

Houston Chronicle gave it a two star rating, and said "Eragon's magic gone in a puff of smoke".

I wouldn't trust them though, they gave a two star to "Stranger Than Fiction", and I thought that movie was good...
