Does anyone you know have one? Tell me about what they had done and how it looks and who did it. FYI when I was 12 I was shot in the eye with a BB gun and my eye has deteriated to the point where it is getting close to the need to be removed. It looks normal and Id like it to stay that way btw. Yes, I know that blasted movie call The Christmas Story prolly comes to most of your minds.......just curious as to what or if you all have seen in a "fake" eye.

Im blind in my left eye nontheless so appearance only matters my right eye is perfect. Just checking if anyone knows about any real good prostetic procedures on "fake" eyes. The one I mentioned says you cant even reconize its a fake and it moves along with the other eye by like you said the muscles suttered to a plate in the back connected to the prostetic eye.

I'm thinking of that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Last Action Hero. The vilan had that asortment of eyes. I would go for a variety. I dont care what others think of how I look, so I would go all out for how much I could freak others out
Other than that, I have no words worth 2cents.
Just my 1.5 cents

I've actually known two people with fake eyes.. and on one, the eye looked a bit funky, but he was old and I think the tech when they gave it to him was a bit .. simple. The other one was a young girl who just had hers replaced a few years ago, and you couldn't tell at all. They'd grafted the muscles onto the fake eyeball thing, so that it would track with the other eye, and then stuck a fake lens on there which was modelled on the old eyeball (hers was cancer on her eye, so it still looked normal; she didn't gouge it or anything). After a week or three of healing, you couldn't tell the difference. The only way you could tell anything was wrong was by peripheral vision tests - and only really because she hadn't learned to compensate yet.
Anyway.. I'm not sure on the tech for it, but I would say it was pretty much a flawless fake.

A friend of my dad's got his eye taken out by a flying piece from a wood chipper (the one time he forgot to wear safety glasses). The eye is noticeably fake, but only when you look for it. If you are really close to his face you can tell and it doesn't move (obviously) and its iris colour is a bit off from the other one. But this was some time ago that it happened, there are probably better eyes made today.
