What happens when your ISP upgrades you from 1MB to 4MB for free!?!?
Great things! Wonderful things!

The entire local network buckeling under the brutal strain of 4x as much traffic

You are still getting lousy pings.

That's what you should be really happy to see. Bandwidth has nothing to do with latency, if you had a decent isp with good peering you would see sub 60ms pings. DS is so smooth with 60ms pings, except when the server chokes up

Haha, I know what I'm talking about. You see, the UBR I am connected too connects all of my area, and my area is HUGE. We recently got upgraded from 1MB to 4MB (everyone). Which means the UBR's are running at about 99>100% utilization. Which means they are dropping packets and responding slowly. The load on the network was much greater than they anticipated. So you see, bandwidth in this case, is affecting latency. You also have to take into consideration that I live in the UK, and so the transatlantic connection increase my ping by about 100 or so. On a good day, I'll get about 60ms to the MV from the UK. Which is faster than some of you get from the US .
