I like to use it for any repairs that are going to look like crap, and not last. SAY NO TO DUCT TAPE!

Here in Jacksonville Florida, a local radio station sponsors an annual Duct Tape Bikini contest. Contestants are to make their bikini's from duct tape only, and use as little as possible.
As a guitarist in a touring band in the '90's, duct tape was with us always. Simple, mundane uses like keeping mic, guitar and monitor cables on the floor, in place and out of the way; as well as more creative uses like when the fastener on one of the lasers in our $30,000 light show came unfixed.
Makeshift guitar straps, drum head adjustment, stage markers indicating where to stand and set various things, etc.......

Holding power cords to what they need to be plugged into and taping cords down so no one'll trip on them...yet people still do...
