We have some exciting new background art going out with the latest hot-fix tomorrow at 3 AM (11/10/2014).
Thanks go out to "Ferrin" for donating the commercial grade space background art for DarkSpace, so give him a thanks when you see him in-game next time.

I have recently switched to triple monitors and the game is stunning across three, however the new background art seems to stretch so much that the pixels are huge and all the background stars and galaxys are very pixellated and blocky, it looks very low quality. My resolution is 4320x900, which i'm sure is the reason for the stretchiness. The planets and all 3d models scale and maintain their resolution perfectly however so it is a little strange that the background looks like a snes skybox. The previous skybox was more dark space and so the problem was not so noticeable.
I do think that the background artr is a litle too busy however all around, , the previous skybox seemed to have nebula artwork below and something above and all around was mainly clear space which meant distant systems and their stars were more noticeable. Now the galaxys and other 'distractions' may serve as reference points but I feel they are too distracting. Perhaps different systems could have different backgrounds if server maps are to be rotated?
