Firstly, the resource unit size has been increased to 1,000 from 250.
Cargo space has been increased the following ship classes, scouts now have 1, frigates 2, destroyers 3, cruisers 4, dreadnaughts 6.

but that's absolute non equal to ship size ratio...maybe scout 1 and frigate 2, but destroyer min 4, cruiser 6 and dread 8 or 10 and stations 10 - 16 ... this take in mind ship's hull size ...

i've to agree, bu you should difference between units&cargo.
a regular cruiser shouldn't be able to carry more than1,or even 2 units.
maybe special cargo/unit modules should be droped by transporters...

if /cruzz / dreds / stations carry from 6 and up why should anyone fly an transport class ship ?

How about separated slots for troops, res and addition devices.

Cargo ship have highest ratio of cargo space / hull / equipment ... so for example only station can have bigger cargo space ...

i think ship classes should influence it to, for instance a battle dread can carry 4 but a command dread can carry 8

The Battle Dread is a pure warship. Instead of having 4 cargo slots i would mount some more weapons or some more armor so that it can do his MAIN Duty much better. You don't need transports anymore when the big ships act like transports AND can defend themselves very well too. Teamplay will only be favored when you spezialice the ships. As long most ships can many duties very well not many play as a team.

Agree with DD war ship is not transport ship, but of course as in real war can be there ships with possibility of carrying cargo (e.g. Minelayer have big free space for mines, this can be swaped to cargo space or vice versa cargo space for more mines (doubling number of them on board etc:) ..
this system must be established with care because mistake can again screw game to dreadspace and i not want this to happen...
