In light of the most recent News article on the DarkSpace homepage, it is my pleasure to announce the complete renovation of one of this game's most essential weapons: the Online Manual.
For the past few days I have been planning out an entirely new format for our Manual, a format that we sincerely hope will be easier to read and easier to learn from. We hope to write a Manual that players new and old can read front to back with no need to jump back and forth between sections to gain knowledge in a sequential manner. It is indeed our ambition to make a new Manual that you can learn from without having to skip any pages along the way.
Again, the outline is already underway, but writing cannot begin until the patch goes live. Rest assured that the start AND finish of the new manual will be well indicated in the community. New sections will not be uploaded until the entire new manual is complete.
Thanks in advance for all the patience and support, and thank you to Faustus from the bottom of my heart for making this long-awaited patch a reality.
Edit - March 2: The Rewrite has officially started.
Progress Update - March 14: Almost there!
Thank you for your patience, everyone. Vinco and I are almost done with the player's guide at the moment. Once it's complete, we'll just have to dig through and do some various lists, like of the different ship components and such. Then we'll roll out the concluding sections, proofread, and post.
I apologize that this is taking as long as it is. The Manual is bigger than it may seem at a distance

*bump!*
Why does this get bumped? And why, pray tell, is the menu all screwed up with this news? Bah!

I dunno, Shig. Why don't you rewrite the Manual and ask yourself the same questions?

| I would, but then we'd just have the script to Monty Python and the Holy Grail as an online manual, and while that may be handy when analyzing swallows, coconuts, and interesting taunting methods, it wouldn't be all that handy for DarkSpace.
If, however, you'd like me to do a section on it - perhaps an abbreviated version - I'm more than willing to help.

That is a very nice piece of work, i've nothing to complain about
Tho it would probably be a very good idea to add a "Gameplay" section near the beginning. Everything is described technically correct and detailed, but Newbies are left out in the cold when it comes to such things as "Whats its all about" and "What should i do in GA/ the MV when i start out".
Considering the rising disorientation in this Community, that would probably be a good thing to have..
