I've fixed one crash to desktop issue, which was happening when lots of ships and effects were running in game.
Basically, the display code was overflowing the dynamic vertex buffer. This code has been changed so that the vertex buffers are now allocated on the fly, thus it's impossible to create the overflow condition.
