I've put a lot of thought into redesigning the ST-117 UGTO dread (since the HDD crash) that I did last year. I wanted a more graceful design (than the ST-117) that would look like an evolution of the current dread, instead of something far off.

Hopefully I managed something better here.

Criticisms welcome.

Main body is a unimesh, with the arches, nozzles and pods separate pieces that will later be probooleaned with the main body once I've gotten feedback and confirmed the final design.

I would rather have a dread with a larger rear, right now it looks kind like an insect. And while I know you are aiming for a futuristic sleek design, most UGTO ships here are bulkier with smooth curves, kinda like their brawler playstyle.

Edit: Also, current UGTO ships don't have as many arcs/designs on them, you can notice most of the hulls are quite bare.

I feel like most ugto ships flair out toward the end instead of coming in.

i remember one of your designs have unjoined rear wings, like that better, and definetly need bigger arse. we like big...ones.... ugto dread definetly needs one.

Yeah. I actually have a 2nd version in the works ('cos I already expected you guys to say it looks pretty similar to the current dread! )

But let's get back to the unjoined wings thing. This begs a question.

WHY DO DREADS NEED WINGS?!

There are differences. That's why it's an evolution, not a revolution.

But worry not, I already have a 2nd design that's different. Just need to work out the little kinks and details.

I don't like it. Not a fan of the style you've chosen to portray here. When I think of a streamlined UGTO ship, i picture something significantly more elegant like these two images.

Let me explain:

The first image (specifically the front half) has those smooth curves that are remaniscant of the UGTO design, while also having a unique and streamlined look to it that I really really like. Incorperating a similar, I'll say again, similar, style as that front section with a UGTO dread front section may produce an interesting result. I haven't personally experimented with it, but its a suggestion on how to strengthen the piece and make it look better imo.

Second image im looking at the side shot of the concept. The way it has the curves of the vessel flow across the entire hull of ship really reinforces that simple elagance that im talking about. It also has a unique sort of look with its bridge, not necessarily the top most part of the ship, but the little bit beneath it. Having an obvious 'bridge' section on a UGTO ship wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, and could give it a central point to design the rest of the ship around.

If you need clarification, just say so.

why wings? i dont know. i see ugto and kluth scout and dessie have wings. dread haw rear wing, but joined into one big...err..dont know how's it said in englih.. (skrew thy google translator! button to far away to click and use it)
you can remove wings, but its gonna look like chick with no paths... and tiny butt. then you should my butt bigger, maybe put some buttcheeks in and...you know what i mean, big engines, modules...or make them side thingies like icc dread has, only in ugto style.

these look like UGTO ships. But they DON'T look like ship made for combat. They look like passenger cruisers >.>

not a ship design I would put many guns on

also, the hull looks way too open for a heavy armored ship.
