okay so this is my idea for my next event im gunna post it here
so i can get some feedback on it This is not yet an event but may soon be

EVENT: Battle Royale

Rules:


  • Team Vs. Team Battles
    "Teams will be recruited by team leaders"

  • 2 team battles Will take place making a total of 4 teams

  • Each team will have a 'Team Leader'
    "An elected team leader will chose up to 6 members out of the
    signup list with fitting roles for his/her team"


  • 7 Players per team Max
    "Depending on how many * points the team uses they can have up to 7 players"

  • Each team will have a total of 36* points
    "Out of these points the team leader can "hire" various ships...
    You can find the list of ships and thier values below"

7 * 2 = 36 ?????

Also, for added kicks, if the team leader dies, the whole team looses.

I think... You might just need to set hard limits on specific ship classes.

yes, yes it is. take out fleet add in team put some dippy points thing in there and wham new idea?


first off instead of points (and keep in mind this is all IMO) it should be classes i.e 7 people

2 station max
2 dread
2 cruiser
1 various

for the simple reason of who wants to be stuck in a frig/scout because of points.

secondly and i do like the idea but team leaders so do a draft type of rotation so its not Vets vs scrubs. and with that it cant be simply TB vs world. if a TB member is team lead they should not be able to have more than X ammount of people from tb. where the rest of the ds community gets to go "nice meeting you now get this dread off of my arse"


thirdly and most importantly. CASH MONEY PRIZES PLZ K?

The combatzone is intentionally small. It is desgned primarily with destroyers and cruisers in mind. You will understand why when the full rules are finalized and published

During fleet battles we ask you not to interfere or jump into the central zone. If you die during a fight then you are not allowed to jump back in until the fight is over. This ONLY applies furing fleet vs fleet contests. The last person standing wins for their fleet. Otherwise feel free to test your skills vs other players in normal duels.

Ship Selection
The numbers on each team wont be fixed. It can vary by up to 25% but with a minimum team size of three people.
So you can have a team of 3 playing a team of 4, or a team of 15 figthing a team of 20.

The total points a team gets to spend is decided on the number of people in the smaller team multiplied by 5.

The team of 15 would have a total of 75 points to spend at 5 points average each member.
The team of 20 would get 75 points to spend at an average of 3.75 points per member.

Detailed point costs...

Scout = 1 point. (K'luth = 2)
Frigate = 2 points (K'luth = 3)
Light Supply = 2 points (+2 for reload)
Destroyer = 4 Points (K'luth = 5)
Heavy Supply = 3 points (+4 for 2 reloads)
Cruiser = 6 points
Dread = 9 points (Ganglia, +2 points for the reload.)
Station = 12 points (+2 per reload)

This will mean that you would expect a team to use mainly destroyers or cruisers. All K'luth ships will cost an additional point up to cruiser class. This is necessary to balance the smaller vessels.
A ship with a reload devices cost 2 points extra per reload.

You are allowed to mod, but these are limted to those allowed by your chosen factions Factories.

The league would be done on a ladder system. Each fleet starts with 1000 points when joining the ladder. These will be won and lost depending on how well your fleet fares.

For equally matched teams, the winner will gain 5% of the total points of the losing team and the loser will lose 5% of thier points. So at 1000 points one team would win 50 points making a total of 1050, and the other team would go down to a total of 950.

We have decided to include a modifier to reward the low ranking teams for trying to take on the large teams and not lose so much.
The actual points calculation formula is as follows
(LoserTotal*0.05)*(LoserTotal/WinnerTotal) = Total points lost/gained
If a low ranked fleet beats a team with double their score, they would get double the reward. If the high ranked team wins, they will get half the reward. This means that to maintain the top position fleets will need to work for it.

For a duel to be classified as Official and to be entered onto the ladder, a Moderator needs to be present as either observing or participating.
