As you may be aware, Dr Bones recently lost his ship, The Quark, in what appeared to be a freak radiation accident. One Grand Admiral Charaznable led an valiant and successful mission to track down the missing ship. Unfortunately, one of the his subordinates tripped the Quarks defensive systems when he got to close, which resulted in the ship ultimately being destroyed. Despite this, Charaznable was duly rewarded for locating the vessel and, more importantly, the recovery of black box data recorder from the wreckage.
Obviously, the manufacturers of the vessel were concerned that such an incident could occur and launched an investigation into the flight records, which in turn has uncovered some remarkable information. It has been revealed that on his journey to investigate the Abyss nebula, Cincinnati Jones was being followed by some heavily stealthed ships. This is not unusual for someone in Dr Bones's line of work, and indeed the enhanced sensor arrays on The Quark were able to penetrate the ECM field and get a target lock on a ship called the Blue Ruby. The trailing ships immediately broke off their pursuit, but not before managing to infiltrate The Quarks computers with a malicious viral infection. It seems that this is what was responsible for the malfunctioning of the starships computers. The radiation flare itself was merely an artificial trigger for the virus.
What the investigation has so far been unable to uncover is exactly how the pirates managed to infect The Quark in the first place. It is of obvious concern as many civilian craft use the same industry standard computer systems and software, and it is even utilized on some low-end military grade warships.
With this in mind, the manufacturers are issuing a 5 million credit reward for anyone able to track down these pirates. Although they are expected to be extremely hostile, an additional reward is on offer for anyone able to capture the vessels intact.
Obviously, sensor logs will need to be provided as proof.
Good luck hunting.

It is a shame that he was unable to capture the ship intact. The reward for doing so would have been much more substantial. However, Admiral Mousey has earned his 5 million credit reward, and estimated prestige rating boost of 100 points, as well as earning an additional 7 days worth of premium pilots insurance.
Upon examination of the Ruby's debris field, we have managed to recover the ship flight data recorder.
It appears the ship is owned by one Captain Lektor Sammosa. We don't currently have any more information regarding this individual, but he definitely was not aboard the Ruby when it was destroyed, and so the hunt continues.
We will endeavor to release more information on this investigation as soon as it is available.
P.S. There are also some additional rewards on offer for those more intellectually inclined, although I won't disclose exactly what as it gives it away. I also want to see what people can come up with...

After further investigation we can confirm that Lektor Sammosa was not on board the vessel destroyed earlier, and there is even some doubt as to whether it was the real Blue Ruby. Although the preliminary scans matched, a detailed analysis has shown some worrying discrepancies. It seems that the ships destroyed earlier were merely decoys while Sammosa used the distraction to make his escape.
The military authorities have stepped in and are offering an increased bounty on this individual and the ship in question. It is entirely possible that he will be escorted, but we want these pirates captured alive if at all possible as they have vital information which we need to obtain.
Failure to do so could result in a serious threat to Quadrant wide security.

Upon discovering the pirates, we found that Lektor had abandoned the Blue Ruby and was board the other vessel. We destroyed the Blue Ruby, deeming it to be no longer a priority target, and things got a bit... overzealous while we attempted to capture Sammosa.
Also of note are an alien vessel within the group, and the use of home-made fighters by the pirate fleet.

Ruby's arent blue, they are red.
Also, Quarks is a subatomal part, and it can not exist on its own. So, there should be another Quark:0

I'd also like to ask, we saw an Unknown ship type, presumably pirate design, Called "Squid" .. was it just a pirate ship or something relevant?

Mmkay, Lets see, Lektor is Lecturer in german, Could this mean that he is a leader amoungst pirates? Teaching many of their pilots skills and trades.
And further more a Blue Ruby, Ruby is red as said above, and is one of the 4 expensive gems on earth, and the fact its blue makes it even more rarer, so im going with it is a one of a kind ship given to him by pirates for him expertise and help.

Cincinatti Bones in the Raiders of the Lost Quark is Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Arc.
Captain Lektor Sammosa in Curse of the Blue Ruby is Captain Barbarossa in The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Is Indiana Jones, they are after the Ark of the Covenant, believed to hold the ten commandments. But there is also a german agent after this item. Indiana finds it first, but the agent steals it, and Indiana takes it back.
So, Bones finds the important information, ship dies, pirate picks it up, we kill the pirate, take it back. So, whatever information is found in the debri's should be something of high importancy, as was said in the event "That causes a quadrant wide security thread".
Now enough thinking, i am off to bed.
