The Kill List Mayhem

Brief Plan

So this is how it goes...all active players are assigned KOS list's and the player assigned will need to kill the specific person in the order of rank on the list.

Detailed Plan

The players who are on the KOS list are expected to defend thier bounty on their head, if however they are deafeted by KOS list holder (in this case it is everone besides the people on the list) then the bounty will be claimed.
Now players or NPC's can be on the list so it is as followed.

Bosses/Bounty defenders V1

-Scout Boss -
-Frigate Boss -
-Destroyer Boss - (open too suggestions)
-Battle Cruiser Boss -
-Dreadanought Boss -
-Station Boss -

Overall completion 1000pres (including the credits and bonus pres from the bosses)

(Rewards for V1 stated above)

NPC only for this

Other info

-Bosses will respawn quickly

-No one can attack a boss more than once

-This event recommended for high ranked players although lower ranked players will be able to have a try

-KOS forum thread or news list.

-NPC bosses likely to be MIR or Pirates

-Planets with ship yards where bosses will be designated are not allowed to be capped.

-Finally planets defence systems turned off for event.

Players only for this, must submit application to be a boss.

If a boss gets kills the bounty will go higher. The boss will not lose pres for event but will get 1000 pres each...if they do the job right.

Rewards for V2

If you manage to do the whole KOS list you will get 1mill credits and 1000 pres as well as the press you get from killing each boss which in this case will vary upon the ship they chose to be.

Other info - V2

- Upon the player being destroyed he/she will be placed near a sy planet for easy respawns

-Event held in MV

-Bosses will be expected to be on from event running hours

-Event will be for ??? (not sure)

-Boss can be any faction (besides mir and pirates)

-Most of the information is in relatence to V2

-No one can kill a boss more than once

-Some info on V1 same on V2

-A sytem will be neutral so players can go to the bosses planet and try to kill them.

-KOS list will show a star to the boss that has been killed.

-Bounty prices and other info will be stated on the list

-Players with a higher rank or good status in game or forums etc. will have a higher chance of being chosen as a boss.

-You can sign on a seperate thread made by palestar or a mod.

-Finally bosses who are unable to follow the rules will be taken of their priavleges for the event and will be given to someone else. This includes forcing players by purpose to kill a non-boss for a higher bounty or letting a non-boss/KOS list holder kill them.

BLACKHAWK will post any other information or a V3 were the bosses can be NPC and players.

Small idea

Intergrating bounties into the game

More kills equal a higher bounty level and would be based on ship classes so a scout wouldnt get such a high bounty.

reverse the list of prices / ship class..
i want to see the pilot who kills a scout that doesn't want to be killed..
and i want to see the pilot who can defend his station if n>2 people are out to kill it..

Since i specialize in Dreadnoughts id be happy to hand a good old UGTO-Dread smackdown to anyone who tries to kill me.

Sure, i'm not on top of the food chain but that won't stop me from showing you the beauty of Battle and Elite-assault Dreads.

So if you manage to win, you get 7160 in bonus pres? That's a helluva prize...

But as sono sarcastically implied, the ship classes are kinda wonky so its not actually necessarily harder to kill a larger ship. If you choose your ship class well (read: ED/PD), you should be able to do quite well in this setup.

And you mention "defenders" - does that mean that there's a boss hanging out by a planet...

Well, ok. Here's how I read this. Picture back in elementary school when you learned about the solar system: nine nice planets (or eight, nowadays) all in a line stretching out from the sun. Except here, each planet would be a boss. You fight Mercury, and if you win, you jump on out to Venus to battle them too. They'd have the neutral planet there you mentioned, and a small cadre of assistants to protect them.. from maybe one or two with the scout to a ten-ish defenders with the station? You basically continue on out through the group until you die, and are rewarded accordingly.

Or did I get that wrong?

Also, your idea to have the contest integrated into the interface wouldn't work.. it'd take quite a bit of coding specifically for this event and would require a patch to enable. If you haven't noticed, patches aren't exactly flying about around here, and that's just to fix problems, so I doubt one to enable this event would be coming any time in the next decade.

ok..shig thanks for pointing out some problems

first of all you misunderstood the part about the bosses....i stated that the boss ship would be by the planet, defence systems would be deactivated so the planet would not interfear, the planets intentional purpose is for quick respawns only.

Also there are two plans and as it's a suggestion it won't be tip top and is open to improvements.

I was typing a nice long reply to this.. but gcql crashed, so here's the abbreviated version because I'm too lazy to retype it all.

I wasn't trying to criticise.. I was trying to understand... well, except for the prize bit. But understand I'm not opposed to prizes of prestige and such.. but if you were a youthful ED pilot, you could potentially go from 2RA to Vice Admiral.. or some similar drastic gain. For an FA trying to hit GA, it'd be helpful and not overwhelming (what, 9% of their prestige or so), but it just seemed rather extreme in some cases. Though to counter that, you could do a 10% of your pres, up to 5000.. or somesuch. So the higher ranked players would still get a good prize, while the lower ranked wouldn't skip over half the ranks.

Anyway, the whole planet thing, and the rest of the post was not meant to redefine your post, nor say anything was wrong - rather, I was just making up an analogy to try to explain how I understood your proposal. All I was trying to do was describe it a different way, but still get the content the same. I didn't really mean anything about Sol.. it was just a way of thinking about it. But instead, think of it like a buffet: you start at the front and work your way across the table thinger, trying each dish offered. Except you're actually killing the dishes, because they're spaceships.
Clear as mud? Right.

I guess I need you to explain it more clearly, perhaps with a nice example/analogy that I can't seem to come up with.

Also, planets you said won't have defenses, which is fine. But I don't think bigger ships are necessarily harder to kill - its not a big difference in difficulty, but more a difference in tactics and time required. [Though I could be wrong, since I don't play too often, so if someone else has more experience/comments on this, feel free to correct me]
Thus, I'd say bigger ships would also get escorts/defense, be it ships (player or AI) and planet defense.
Just a thought. They could well be unupgraded ships, so they're not a huge influence (obviously 5v1 all upgraded won't work too well, after all), but otherwise.

Is this basically just a series of duels, then? Or am I again misunderstanding?


Anyway.. I'll quit now. Try to clear it up; if I'm being a moron, you can say so, but I'm trying to understand so I can give you better feedback and potentially help make this happen.
