Alright.

How about we get the community abit more involved in the design of the MV?

Players can design the MV, with each factions respective homesystems and the contested territory. Players can design it any way they want..

The winner can get a prize, or just the nice satisfaction of knowing their map was picked..

Form more Ideas for this, and try and add onto it.

Hmm... I am torn on how to design this. In theory, 4 systems sounds great (1 for each faction and a middle one to fight over), but being in the same systems all the time would get dull which makes one think a LARGE MV is the way to go, but then we have our current situation where we lack the playerbase to defend such territory. I'm thinking like 7-10 systems would be the sweet spot. and I cannot stress enough an INCOMPLETE JumpGate network. Make the invading fleet LONG JUMP to get to your territory, so that when you kill them they take longer to return than 2 minutes. Current battles aren't really about winning the fight so much as which side has more players that can play longer, because the side that has to log off first loses. If its a long jump for invaders to return, then the defending fleet can gain the upperhand and push the whole fleet from their space.

Also, the short-ranged WHs of the next version would be perfect for bridging the gap somewhat to speed the initial invasion of enemy space, or of bringing waves of returning (killed) invaders back into the battle.

There is my 2 cents. Build something around that and you have the best combat MV ever designed.

I like the idea of an incomplete jump system based MV map.

I think I shall be working on a MV map, would be pretty neat.

hmm... I want it to be fair for all sides, but also dont want it to be symmetrical. I am aiming for a more Natural feel to the star positions...

Here's is what I came up with. I am not gonna go into crazy detail of each system. The names of the systems get the point across.

I like both. Both takes 2 long jumps to get from home system to home system. both use the JGs in a nice way. Both create fair but unique territory for each faction.... BUT mine has the GOLDEN PRIZE, which is the Secret system where the Mir and Gaifen live.

Both are playable tho.

Indeed I do like the whole hidden planets, I was even talking about the old hidden systems long time back. Someone told me the planet I was speaking of was called Steamroller. Oh how I missed that planet going 15-20gu a second crushing anything in its path, quiet funny.

As for AI, it would be also neat, but I think it might create more lag. All in all, I do love em though

Edit: Oh god a energy entity is annoying..

I have had a quick map, there not linked yet, so the lines are all done by me, but it will look like this:

As you can see, I will be adding some new solars and such. Tried to base most of it off how far solars are actually in real life etc etc. Vega will be the center line, basicly where all the strong planets are, where you'd probably want to get too

Going to play with ICC's side a bit I think..

Forgot who I was speaking with but it seems like you can create a full sized MV..

Someone told me the planet I was speaking of was called Steamroller.

If you asked Sixkiller then it was me who told him. I think Steamroller was the name for Fleetwars orbiters, probably not the MV ones, sorry

Oh, so it wasn't that planet then. Shame. I know there was one long time ago.. Back in the days where you had to 'connect' per jumpgate..
