A process that turns synthetic pork sausages into a potentially lethal explosive has been discovered.

The process, called Substantive Quantumn Inversion, was discovered by accident when an unamed weapons technician sealed synthpork inside the warhead of a Quantumn Singularity Torpedo as part of a practical joke during a routine test.

While attempting to detonate the torpedo, a massive energy surge caused the device to impode and resulted in an explosion far in excess of the one which was expected.

So far, scientists are refusing to reveal exactly what is involved in this process, but beleive the discovery will herald the beginning of a whole new field of study into understanding the laws that govern our universe.

Jack Lammont, Director of Development for the Titan Research laboratories has been quoted as saying "Who would have thought that the common sausage would be so deserving it's nickname?"
