for a few weeks now i have been getting this really strange lag.

it zips ships around really fast and they do barrel roles all ships friend and foe alike zip around really fast and do barrel roles it makes targeting really hard.

the game is basically unplayable for me when it happens.

it seems to happen in big fights or when alot of people are on im gonna try and re install to fix it is the only thing i have not done yet.

please help me figure out what i can do, i never have any other problems in my other online games and i got fios internet all fiberoptic, so i should not be getting this lag...

thanks for the help

start darkspace setup from the Launch tab, uncheck the Enable Multicore option located on the options tab

When is multicore actually going to work anyway?

It works for processors that don't do OOP (Out of Order Processing). There's no magical flag to check if they do or don't, and we don't have the time to do a complete engine re-write.

So it is what it is .

Well perhaps when we've reached a point where there isn't much else to fix or add, you guys can focus on that.

turn udp off makes lag less but increases desynch. Was so bad for me to turn udp off, got 4 sec desynch average (uncloak, fire, see missles impact, wait 8 seconds to see the damage (4 sec desynch on impact, 4 sec desynch on server response to display the new armor/hull status).

a small desynch can rlly add up with the server feedback loop system. all goes smoother yes, but all your actions wont be rendered in the server untill its way to late, all your torps will fail even when hitting, and you will never be able to e jump out of combat.

in short: i can recommend not turning UDP off....
