It barely works in Windows. When you exit the game in windows you get crash error reports, when reporting said reports in the past I was told they will not be fixed as it is a waste of time.

I have -never- had a crash report upon exiting the client, and I have always ran Windows. It works perfectly fine.

I used to run XP, and now I have Windows 7 64-bit, never had a problem with it ever.

That said, as long as it doesnt affect you in-game, I would say that there really isn't terribly much of a problem. If it was crashing mid-game, without you going to exit, that would be something the developers would have to look at, but since it doesnt adversely affect the game, I'd hazard a guess at that being why it's 'not being looked at'.

(Edited, since I forgot which OS I run. :/)

yeah, because crashing AFTER you exit, is "barely works".

Natively? No. With a Windows emulator? I don't run Linux myself so I can't say for sure, my only suggestion would be try it and see.

Works fine for me on x64.

The crashing error is due to some erronous DirectX handling issue that is not important (the game has been terminated, and will release all resources). It's a very, very small issue that does not require a priority fix as it only affects a small number of people, and doesn't damage anything.

As far as Linux goes, you may have some limited luck with Wine or other emulation software. You'll require Internet Explorer and MFC libraries for GameCQ to run, and DirectX 9.0c for the game.

Oh, so I have encoutered this issue several times...

Can we have a board annoucing known issue? Aformentioned issue made me frustrating a lot. I thought my hardware/firmware caused inflict or driver/windows was responsible for this... Every time I enter the game and error window popup because of this issue, I think DS is mad as it's alerting I did something illegal like escaping without logging off whilst I actually did. And until this time I learn the truth. Maybe there are many people who not visit forum will never know.

When there shall be a board containing the know issues, it's best to have its link in message of the game in lobby. For the sake of peaceful mind! Thank you.
