Judging from L/D ratio, we can say that prestige loss per death = 3 prestige gain per kill (same ship) shall make death painfully recognized.
But, I'm afraid that won't change the order. Steveyk, Flash, Lith and Code are experts, they're difficult to kill although they usually on top of the menu. Looks like the new penalty will affect mostly on players whose L/D < 2.


Beside the combat prestige, when I looked at the old ships and its simple configuration, I consider we are having too many gadgets. More gadgets = more prestige due to the chance of hit increased. New layout + smarter fighter + better missile also provide a BIG advantage to hunt prestige.


I think the strict way to lower the prestige gain maybe limit combat prestige to be be gained when and only when damaging hull like the old time (I heard).

if you have depots you never die ... others can shoot you for an infinite time but not the opposite thus you still gain more (you dont lose press from dying)

Pres loss from death was laughably minimal anyway, it's more that they could slap on ablative and a bunch of def enh then jump an ICC fleet and be able to jump back to the depot planet before dying, and THEN be invincible while their armor repairs faster than 3 MDs, 2 SS, and a scattering of Cruisers/Destroyers could damage them.

No only can you tank and fire freely at a well built depot planet. But repair times are super quick, meaning you can get back into the fight faster and fight longer as UGTO.

luth get the same bonus from depots as ugto does. only faction that does is icc only becuase depots don;t recharge shields.
