AME DRIVE REFIT why wont it work. |

i have the resouces the tech and whatever else i need for the ame drive on my scout but when i try it says unable to refitt ame. anyone know why or even better could someone fix it.

When this kind of thing happens, check your latency. The shortcut is Alt + P. If it is more than 1000 ms, then you're probably lagged out compared to the server. There are two fixes for it :-
1) Try refitting in a server that has low latency chances. Ursa Minor is my recommendation.
2) Wait for a minute or two after you attempt the refit. If there is any latency spike, it should settle down soon.
If your latency is higher than 200 ms (US resident) or 500 ms (everywhere else) then you need a better connection. The only situation when you don't want it is when you wanna compete in latency records.
Mind you, my record is a heartbreaking 267.2 seconds

It's a known issue with AME drives, sometimes it lets you and sometimes it doesn't. The same thing happens sometimes with ICC/UGTO trying to swap from AFE to IE, but at least there you can swap to PFE which will work, and then from PFE to IE.

My latency is normally 800 - 1000 when I'm just sitting around doing nothing but thats cause I have slow internet. (I live in Ontario, so I'm not terriably far away compared to come people.) I never have a problem refitting...
However, maybe you're doing what I did for the first few months I played. Are you turning off your engines before you try to refit them?

What the man says is true..
the Dev's know of the problem, but apparently the code of swapping the devices is not different than any of the other gadgets.
(ECCM, ECM, Scanner for example)
But i will re-add it to Eledore's list of things to check.

Yeah. I usually go back to the homeworld to refit.
Though that too sometimes seem bugged. Then I'll try again another time.
