It appears i can't access the gcql or the darkspace webpage normally.
i am typing on a cached version by google, as if i try to normally go to the darkspace website the link appears to be down
im wondering if something happened or is it just my computer,

in gcql i get "failed to connect to gamecq server, please try again later"
the website takes me to a google page stating they could not get to the webpage or link is broken, i got on this web site by getting the cached copy

For a unknown reason there have been some DNS problems occurring for the past few days.
This might result in you unable to goto the website, start gcql or connect to a game server.

Staff is aware of the issue. But due to the possible problem being DNS related there isn't much we can do from whiting darkspace.

Knowing Faustus he will solve the problem as fast as possible, but due to the nature of DNS it can take a while before you feel the affects.

FYI... we are transferring our domain name and DNS to a new provider as I speak..

DS itself still seems to be dead, although that might just be me.

Could the client crash?

Is their a possible temporary manual workaround?
DNS is only used to resolve names and point them to an IP, at least thats what I recall some where in the back of my mind, (MCSA training flashbacks) but not 100% sure

Anyway we can manually add a redirect in the hosts file or some thing?
All we need is the address and the IP to the server I assume

Just remembering people that this is the worst workaround in the book, but it is guaranteed to work.

just make sjure you do not follow Wild Cat's wild suggestion and put HTTP:// in it. that just wont work.

Not sure how you define worst, if it gets you going again in situation a DNS fails its a temporarily fix.

Until people forget about it and suddenly DarkSpace changes its IP or something worse.

Hostfile changes i did them a lot but since moving from xp to win7 i have not done it once. I would rather prefer to learn you how to change to another DNS server than messing around with the networking config files.

While in the midst of transferring to a new provider and the DNS not fully propagated yet, it seems that the CSS stylesheet link does not work. Is it possible, for now, to move the link from

http://www.darkspace.net/interface/interface.css (which doesn't work for me)
to
http://darkspace.net/interface/interface.css (which works for me)

That is, if this is a problem for others... It could just be my location and it not effecting me yet. I am using firefox, and it seems that some of us are still be stuck with no stylesheet..

Though I guess, for now, I can browse the website via a proxy where things have leveled off already.

Both CSS links work fine...

It is HIGHLY unlikely they will change the link because this issue you are having is personal and temporary...

To fix it:
Open CMD as administrator, and use the command "ipconfig /flushdns"

@jay

I was not requesting a change for my own personal benefit. As I said, I have went through a web proxy to view the site just fine. My ISP's DNS is slow on changes. I accept that. I mentioned incase if other people were having problems due to it not fully propagating just yet, it seemed like that link to the css is what worked first.

As for the flushdns, I tried it before the original reply and now. No Change. I obviously know thats not the fault of DS. I am aware that this problem would go away within another 24h, but I figured I'd bring it up when I did (yesterday), regardless, to see if there was someone who did have a problem viewing.

People not mentioning anything probably find it hard to traverse the forum when this happens:
http://www.rawrgeek.com/DS.PNG

Regardless, I didn't mean to thread steal I am just going through DS withdrawal. ^.^
