When I unsubed a few years ago, I was a 2nd Rear Admiral. Now I am busted back to cadet. What gives? My Badges are mostly gone as well.

DarkSpace stopped deleting accounts back in 2004, and since then, we don't delete accounts, or remove stats from profiles.
A subscription or active free trail will tell the game servers to calculate your prestige (and therefor rank) from your stats upon entering it. If you do not have an account with a subscription or an active free trail, then it does not do this.
Cadet is the rank the game server gives to players who are not subscribed nor have an active free trail. You may still play the game, but will be limited to Midshipman rank based ships.
As for the fact you state you were 2nd Rear Admiral and had more badges, I cannot say anything other than the database doesn't remove or alter the stats of a profile. Unless you had another account and mistakenly logged into this one, I appologise, but we will not be able to alter your profile to the rank you stated you had, nor return the badges you say you had acquired.

Yes, I remember the email I used to create that account but I have forgot the login name and pass. I no longer have that email anymore. Any way to get the account back?
