Email Validation not seem to be working for me either from client or browser.
Any ideas?

Email validation is working fine... it's more than likely your email providers SPAM protection that is preventing you from receiving the email.

so its normal that i get a black screen if i click onto the validate email button?
and there is no extra spam protection in my mail account and no mails in the spam folder also

I was getting same thing
It seems to be something to do with your isp or was in my case - not filters in ur personal mail program. I just happened to have a separate email for my phone and validated it through that.
Maybe just make up a hotmail or yahoo email account ... and validate through that
