Ok when I tried to download Beta same thing was happening to me, game downloads then when I attempt to log into server I get this message.
Failed to initialize setup ! Then after I click ok a second message pops up saying to check client setup. Please give me some feed back asap

Do you have a sound card (onboard or other)?
Are your drivers up-to-date?
Have you tried running setup?

I didn't understand anything you said I downloaded the game and nothing.. waited 2hrs for the download and I cannot get into game

incase youre running viste, make sure you launched that app with admin rights. other than that, check your firewall maybe?

It's pretty self explanitory...
Do you have a sound card (either onboard, or plugin)?
Are all your drivers up-to-date?
Have you run the DarkSpace setup?
You need to make sure you've done all of these things.

ok i had same problem but i got it fixed u need to go bk into the setup then u will get a screen saying on the top DarkSpace Setup then look in the box and find DISPLAY MODE then set it to wat ur running (it will show wat ur running in the drop down box on the right) this i should hope fix's your problem

Under the Launch Menu you will see
Darkspace
Darkspace Tutorial
Darkspace Setup
Before you run the game for the first time under v 1.5 you need to run the Setup option under launch. That configures your sound and graphics settings.
Once you have run the setup you can then run "Darkspace" to get into the game.
