Well to my distain Ive found 1.500 to be unplayable at the moment.
Im sure its a problem on my side of the wire, but nothing so far next to reformating has helped solve it.
Problem: I downloaded the 81 mb large patch this morning and installed it over the older version of DS. After experiencing some horrendous lag, -namely: 1 min till joining a faction, 1 min or more untill actually spawning of a ship, long delays between messages (around 2-3 min) and getting kicked back to the spawn screen after about 3-4 min of lagging around Earth,-
I reinstalled all my DS files and patched again. Nothing has changed though and I would really appreciate some constructive feedback on how to fix this.

The DarkSpace servers for the first time were maxed out on there bandwidth. This would account for the lag. A few players have helped take the load off the Palestar servers and thus far the servers are returning to normal. Please understand that this was not seen until it had all ready effected the quality of the game play. We do apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. I encourage you to try it again later... If you are still having problems then maybe it is something to do with your firewall? I and many other players are not having the same issues as you have described. However there was a lot of lag when I came into game but over 30min things started to improve and game play returned to normal. but hey just consider that it may have been what i described above. Good luck to you.

He was playing when no-one was downloading DarkSpen.
Tracert to metaverse.darkspace.net, and paste it here.

these are actually my normal latencys in DS, thats why im so confused atm.
edit: The lag was better now, but returned after a bit of playing. Akwardly enough, no one reported any lag. I hope this is just an issue due to downloads from the server.

Your ISP is routing you some retarded way through America to the DS servers.
Call them, tell them to sort their routing tables out.
You're hopping straight from your local DNS NRouter to America - you shouldn't be doing this.
Not only that, but it seems the last jump before it hits the NYC NRouter is lagging like hell, and it's a German IP. My guess is that it's overloaded with traffic.
Again, call them, tell them to sort their routing tables out. If they say nothing is wrong, tell them to do a trace route to America, and they should see the problem.
I'm not that much closer to the US, and even I'm not getting routed through all of America. I get 3-4 hops MAX. It doesn't look like your problem can be solved by us.
Is anyone else in Germany having issues?
To give you an idea of what it should look like:
C:Documents and SettingsAdministrator>tracert metaverse.darkspace.net

I hope you can see the difference : namely 7-8 hops going through my local country, then leaving to the US, where the same 7-8 hops are tracing through America to hit the server. Yours is doing 1 hop in Germany, and the rest in America - not ideal.

I just got of the phone and they said they'd take a look, but it is unlikely to be changed.
Stubborn german company policies again -.-

Just to help some - what ISP are you with, and is anyone else here on that ISP?
