but why is it when you you cut a planted close and your ICC shelds touch the planet your ship goes Boom?? ( NOT BCUS OF THE MASSIVE LAG )
no really i want to know.. and not some bull excuse i want to know why these ICC balanced sheilds make my ship explode when they touch the planet and not the ship.

I agree with this one, it looks really silly when your ship doesnt even touch the planet, but the ships shields touch it and *BOOM*.
Brings alot of grief especially if this happens a couple times in a row.
Also the navigation screen whiteline bug should be fixed, sometimes it shows whiteline, but when you check it yourself by zooming in, it goes thru a planet, and you go thinking its just a graphics bug and press J, your ship gets destroyed.... takes alot of time to check the line by hand everytime.

Its just the way hit detection works. Your ship lives in a little hit sphere. Its more efficient then trying to detect collisions on the contours of a hull.

not to rag anyone.... but getting that close to a planet isn't wise anyway. sadly it's the only way to bomb currently, or as of last time i played. but imo you shouldn't have to get that close to be effective at bombing... perhaps if there were more ppl and you could team up.. you could ECM your bombs and not need to get close at all.. think bout it

its a alot quiker to code it as such, without making things even more slower then they are with the servers, especually by making it check colisions around the 3D object itself. Fire a CL at the planet or something to get where the colision point is, its not that hard to avoid it.

Oh it does work that way in real-life, if you're driving a Pinto.

Ship shaped hit boxes are planned I believe. Until then, stay away from planets.
