First, make sure GCQL.exe or Client.exe is not still running by using the task manager. Kill the tasks if they are locked and still running.
Download the following files, save them into your DS directory:
http://www.darkspace.net/downloads/CoreMemory.dll
http://www.darkspace.net/downloads/msvcr71.dll
CoreMemory.dll will already exist in your DS directory, just replace the file.
Start the lobby back up, that should work... If not, then just reinstall DS.

WHY ... do you not want to install SP2? It makes XP so much faster and reliable.
If the size of the download is the problem then let it download overnight.
If it is because you can't install SP2 due to a hacked serial for XP then BUY ONE!
Don't know why you guys are still avoiding SP2!! It just makes computing life so much better

IF I install XP SP2 I lose ALL inernetnet connections EVEN with all the firewalls turned off. I might try to download it once more and see if it is fixed.

I acutally noticed a significant performance increase from SP1 to SP2... because I uninstalled SP2 last night to play Darkspace at 3 AM... then reinstalled it this aftenroon. I'm sorry but SP2 is far more reliable and faster. Despite it's over simplification and too many useless features. Haha.

And second off...SP2 cause it my Windows Explorer to constantly fail after any restart to the point where i had to completely do a system restore to fix the problem, and that took me five hours...
