lost my stored C-D when I went into the game, and clicked "Command". It instantly dissapeared from my screen, and I went back and play'd with another ship, in hopes that it would come back (logging every single time I died to check to see if it came back)..
Not back yet.
Want compensation.
I had um, all ame's,amj, 3 am torps, 3 cl2ks, psi cannons, active sheilds, and a full night club bar with poles inside of it. (I dont want compensation for my workers tho.. they are kinda... secret , and my K&N air filter.
if i didnt list it it was stock ...

I think I know what causes this.
Impatience.
I did a similar thing a few weeks ago. Died, showed up on ship selection, chose a ship and hit play. Nothing happened. Waited a few seconds (<10) and clicked another ship and hit play.
Still nothing so I exited and returned to game.
And...the first ship I had originally selected disappeared.
My suspicion is, if I'd waited a bit longer, or even tried the /connect command from 'death' I'd not have lost a ship.
Honestly though, I don't care about compensation. I've lost a few ships and currently have at least 1.MM in the bank. Considering how easy it is to get credits when you actively participate in the MV, it's just not important when I've got plenty.
Now, way back when...before missions showed up, it was another story. I had given away resources to friends, but having 200K in the bank was very significant.
Sometimes when I question the wisdom of uber-plentiful credits, I go back and look at how MV combat worked with modded ships. People simply didn't like to play there because to compete you had to Mod...when you Modded you risked a lot of resources should you die.
Just wish there was more of a middle ground. Credits a little more scarce, but nothing as bad as it was 8 months ago. Realistically, though, the game has a longevity problem.

Similar to Fornax, I had a funny one, got impatient grabbing a ship to mod, and hit ganglia, command, ganglia, command, ganglia, command, ganglia, command, and I finally popped out in a ganglia.
When I was done modding, I returned to the home gate to grab another ship to mod, only to get a message that said "garage full", lost the modded ganglia, and had 3 stock ones now filling my garage : P
After my initial shock at the loss of credits, I laffed my butt off.

Hey all,
While gating from BS to Eps Eri it gave me the "ship flying in the stars" scene 3 times... when I came out of the gate, I was presented with the ship selection screen. All of my ships and Cargo had been deleted. Is there a way that I can get them back? (is it logged?)
Dont really know what I had... at least 1 Modded AC (what I was flying), modded MD I think, Modded Sensor Frig (maxxed ECCM, actives and scanner), Modded supply, and I usually have a second Modded AC just in case...
As for my inventory, I had CL 2K's, pulse shields and reactor 1500's...
Just a reload would be nice if possible...
Note: Will I lose prestige for the ship that I was flying?
Thanks,
aurora.
