First off, i'm really happy to see the community is still around after 22 years. There's a different level of love that comes from two-decades of service. In a way, DarkSpace has become more like a small family, more than just a gaming community.
Before I joined the Air Force in 2014, you guys introduced me to some of the best times in gaming. In a way, this was my first gaming community. More so, it was a place I could escape to when life got stressful, something i'm sure a lot of you can relate to...
That's why i'm going to ask for your help. I want to bring a similar community to your attention.
I am not here to pull anyone away from DarkSpace, nor would I ever dream of it. This community has hundreds of combined years in experience, knowledge, and a personal investment few other have. The experience and history DS carries is worth gold in of itslelf.
Moving forward...some of you seasoned vets may know this one.
Infinity: The Quest for Earth. It was an early 2000's title that has gone through a few changes in recent years. Currently, the game is near 1.0 release, being developed by a small team of developers. It's offering a somewhat similar, albiet much different, experience to DarkSpace.
Today it's known as Infinity Battlescape. A two-faction war in a persistant solar system, offering a lot of customization and gameplay loops. The engine for the game was custom made by I-Novae Studios and it's founder, and has tremendous potential for the future.
This is the main reason i'm reaching out to you. The dev's are truely amazing, and are constantly looking for feedback to improve their game. The DarkSpace community could really offer a lot here. The systems DarkSpace pioneered are still progressive, even for 2022 standards.
I truely feel the legacy of DarkSpace could bless Infinity Battlescape. Not only the lore of the 3 factions, but everything that went into making it an amazing experience. It's also an opportunity share development mistakes and victories that were made along the way.
If nothing else, it's a cool game to check out on steam. I made a short video on the game that i'll link below if interested. Battlescape also has an active community on their Discord/website.
I hope you guys have a good christmas/new years. My name these days is Fuzy or FuzyWazaBear on Discord, if you want to DM me or anything. Be safe out there!

Hey, welcome back. As you can see we're a quieter community now, but we're still poking about. And I've been following Infinity's development since the start, and I've played around in Battlescape back when it first showed up on Steam. Been meaning to give it a longer sit down, but one can never seem to find the time these days. Guess I'll move it to the top of my list, I do get nostalgic for the old battle demo they released years ago too.
If I'm not mistaken, a few of the folks hanging out on the discord have played around with Battlescape too. I'm sure some of them wouldn't mind mingling with other space nerds on occasion
