Seems every time I login for the first time of the day I'm super desynced. About the only way I've been able to even be able to tell if I'm desynced or not is to shoot some Mirvs in empty space.

I tried things like turning the firewall off on my router, but the desync continues until the server and my comp sorts itselves out.

How fast is your connection? For many years I had a very poor connection and was plagued with desync issues.

Tried 30 mbps download / 5 mbps upload, but no difference. Once it syncs on the upgraded speed it's much better.

Does your router or ISP do some form of DPI? If so, that could be causing the de-sync.

Try opening ports 9001 and 9004 and seeing if that helps.

Just tried opening the ports listed here. http://darkspace.net/index.htm?module=faq.php#57

Does still seem to have some first login lag, but seems to solve itself much faster than before.

I suspect your router or ISP is doing some sort of DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) which can often delay or outright block programs from sending or receiving packets for a period of time (this can be exacerbated if your router is doing it and is on old hardware). The fact you find some improvement after opening ports may lead to your ISP doing some sort of DPI; does your ISP throttle P2P programs and such? If so, they probably use DPI to detect that.

All the gear on my network is maybe less than 2 years old with the motorola/arris AC router being the newest. My computer is wired connected.

I managed to come across this web page.

Do you have multi-core rendering in the main game options?
