A speed round server would help improve the Scenario server.
1. have prebuilt SY planerts.
2. Cut build time and cut build points respectively.
3. 1 hour game.

1) LINE STATS, LINE STATS EVERYWHERE
2) Read above
3) What does everyone on the opposing faction do for the remaining 40 mins? Just sit there, twiddling their thumbs?

Scenario used to be like this before shipyards and it was hella fun. But the real reason it will never come back is not for any reasons of balance, but because there is literally nobody left on the development team who knows how to use the game's scripting engine to pre-populate planets or to change the parameters of a scenario match. I wish I was kidding.

if it was just for an hour, you could be assigned a random ship. i personally think that would ba load of fun. if u happen to get a line stat then great. but i personally think it woul be great getting a short stick like a frigate and having to do the best u can with it for an hour.

riiiiiight. Honestly I would love to be proven wrong. But even that script reference says that "some functions have been disabled" and Doran admits here(second to last post) that the last time scripting worked was 483....

Because planets have significantly changed (as has all the game), the functions have been disabled because they don't work. There has been no need to re-write them to work because we haven't needed pre-built planets.
It would take all of a few minutes to update the function to work.

If this is as easy as you make it out to be... perhaps you could add in some prebuilt planets in our current scenario game? It might make it a little more noob friendly to have a built planet to base their own building on or a shipyard to spawn from, etc. It might also make vets more inclined to play scenario.

Would require a scripting engine change, which would require a patch.
