if any of you have played in scenario then atleast once you have seen someone building excess amount of platforms around their planet(s). so can i suggest that someone lower the platform cap in scenario? because they tend to cause lag and tend to make it impossible to play. Scenario is never, in any circumstance, under any load that would make the server lag. With or without platforms, AI, etc.
There's no need to set a different limit or tone it down. [ This Message was edited by: Pantheon on 2013-07-02 18:00 ]

He might mean client performance lag.
Not sure how much of a performance hit 30 platforms are with their model, texture, and shield/armor rings

There's nothing we can do in that situation. We have next to no geometry to render, and what we do render, we do effeciently. 30, 60, 100 platforms would make next to no difference.
Hence why I'm wondering what on Earth this is on about. Either way the answer is no...

It's partly the lag,
And also how it transforms a planet into an inpenetrable fortress.
It's impossible to bomb a planet with lots of weapon plats around it, period. Not only do they PD the bombs but they also seem to attract a hoard of AI the moment you sneeze on them. Since AI loves to spam PD at you, attacking becomes impossible.

thats why you grab a combat ship first and kill all the plats before bombing , slow and steady wins the race does it not

All those problems and more will vanish as soon as you get an AD/EAD/Mandible

Are plats scheduled to have their PDs removed?
Just asking...

I hope not , that would ruin the point of having plats

Lower graphics will solve your issue.
In beta options, set graphics to medium or low and play in window mode at lower resolution than your desktion's.

NO! The platform cap is perfect the way it is at the moment. You just have to figure out a way to tackle the plat spam. Capture it, Destroy it, Tractor it, or Leave it.
