All those asteroids between Arcterra and Metropolis have been brutally murdered.
Sadly, one managed to escape into deep space, but a hunt is currently on to kill them too, in order to make sure that the asteroid doesn't call for backup.
I hope they stay gone until at least a server restart, because I'm sick of always losing my armor or getting hulled when jumping to or from Arcterra, because asteroids fail to show up on sensors beyond 3.5k
Anything below a k'luth destroyer spontaneously explodes, you will not see the asteroids, they will kill you or completely wipe out your frontal armor, and if you're a supply ship, which is extremely fragile, you will lose prestige.

keeping roids in roughly the same place (meaning between arcterra and motroplis, roids orbit about 6500gu out from arcterra, motroplis is another 4k gu farther out).
would it be more preferable for roids to be closer to arcterra or motroplis?, keeping in mind come 1.7, probably hardly anyone will actually ever be in tetra at all

I rarely hit them but i have died before by hitting them lol....... im more concerned of how they make tetra useless during large battles there because planets are constantly nuked from both sides.

Fine, I'll just launch them into deep space where they'll drift for several hours :|

Asteroids won't do as much damage in 1.7. A lot of their damage was inhereted from their velocity, which was applied via ridiculous means (a Particle Cannon could make one go at upwards of 250 gu/s), and has been clamped to 25 gu/s.

an asteroid tractored at 3 gu/sec also kill a planet, its not just the speed.
i think the best way to deal with it is make asteroids implode when tractored, since its an asteroid field and not a single object.

Until you must rebuild the planet you spent hours making.

I prefer flying inferno than flying asteroid.
I don't know what causes my problem. I notice when I tractor asteroid at slow speed (<7gu), I can tractor them. But when I jump or move fast (>7gu), the tractor will fail. I believe due to the latency and loss package, the server think my ship has passed in front of the object and hence force the tractoring beam to shut down.

I wonder if you could unlock a planet by nuking it...
Either that or it will become useless until someone high ranked can get to it.

When that high ranking person logs off the lock goes down to the next highest ranking person still online
