I fiddled around with different setups...
Stock, a Siphon can fire 8 salvos of only his Assault Ruptors before running outta juice.
With 8 advanced beam condensers, supposedly making it 32% more efficient on the energy usage, it... DROPS? To 7 salvos?
What am I missing here? It doesnt look like it's more efficient. Unless the energy usage is directly in relation to the amount of time the module takes to recharge, giving faster recharge so faster ROF, explaining that the passive energy recharge, which remains constant per second, has less time to do it's job before running out, making it LESS energy efficient overall.
IOWs, it doesnt prolong the ability to keep on fighting longer, or be able to deliver more total damage before total energy drainage. So... what's the point? More DPS in exchange of less staying power?
If that is so... I find the "energy efficiency" description, misleading...
I was fitting them to be able to dish out more total damage for the energy used AND being able to last longer in a fight before running outta juice.
We're paying for em, so forgive my ignorance and my self-righteous assumption to the right for clarification.
Some math explaining how the 4% is applied and how it results in a better energy efficiency would be nice too.
Thank you.

The description is a bit misleading.
By "energy efficiency" it means the beams will recharge quicker at the cost of using energy faster.
so basically 4% beam efficiency = 4% faster beam recharge

It recharges faster drawing more energy per second. No enhancements give "free" energy.

That's what I thought, its a rate of fire enhancement. Thank you!

Wasn't looking for "free energy", but something to lessen the energy usage of the guns per shot keeping the same RoF. Alas, seems like it's not an option.

Rate of Fire is directly tied to energy. A weapon needs 'x' energy to charge fully and draws 'y' energy per second. Thus theirs no way to increase a weapon's rate of fire without it being given more energy per second and since their is no "free" energy generated, it just sucks up more.

Remember:
- Multiplexer for Beam (ELF, Laser, Disruptor, Flux)
- Condenser for Projector (Fighter; Torpedo; Mine; Cannon; Core; Missle)
- Upgrade for Defense
- Benchford for Protection
- Exaust for Maneuverability
In case you don't know what to invest, think: projector is more used than beam; and you usually focus your attack on one target but your armor receieve damage from multiple sources.
