I know I sound like a noob asking this but why do the hive and UGTO Support Station not require badges but the ICC ones do? Just seems a bit confusing.

if you dont have 6 silver badges at the rank of FA, theres a glitch with you/your profile
been like that for years, gives an incentive for pilots to achieve the silver star medal. look at GTN. their recruitment policy says "Admiral + Silver Star required".
regard the uggyhead SS as a practice ship, ICC SS as a real station and luth Hive as SHM (Station hard mode)

Can you explain the glitch?
Also what is the silver star badge earned by doing?

getting all the silver badges (combat, bombing, transport, building, and repair). I think I got them all.

There is no glitch, it's just a nice way of saying you're doing it wrong if you don't have silver star by the time you make FA.
