1. defense recharge, right? repair rates.

2. kluth armor (chit and organic) have their repair rates at 25 and 50 HP p/s.

3. using the ADV.DEFENSE POWER (+6%)

so therefore the enhancment bonus applies to the repair rate of the armor, right? for example chitin 25 HP p/s it adds 1.5 HP p/s... with full 8 enhs it gives 12 HP p/s. 37 HP p/s total...

now lets take composite armor (icc) wich has 110 HP p/s, gets additional 6.6 HP p/s, with full 8 it gets 52.8 HP p/s, total of 162,8 HP p/s

standard armor (ugto) has 120 HP p/s, gets additional 7.2 HP p/s, full 8 gets 57.6 HP p/s, is total of 177.6 HP p/s

thats very big difference in the end. defense power is useless for luth. i didnt tak into consideration ahr because enh doesnt effect ahr gadget and i dont have any info on "how" does ahr effect the repair rates, or what are the actual repair rates with ahr. either way, enh effect only armor, there fore it doesnt really add up much to have any signicifance.

i know kluth armor rep rates has been nerfed in the past because of ahr cross effect. but that rendered def power useless.

(i bought 8 def powers....only to figure it out later that no real use for it... 6400 credits wasted+ credits for removal of these enhs)

so now can someone tell me the actual repair rates of the ahr?
i draw the number from this:
http://www.jack-online.co.uk/gadgets/?xml=AutoRepair&level=5&raw=0

but that: "hullRepairTime": "NounShip * pShip = WidgetCast( parent() ) if( pShip != NULL && !pShip->isOutOCombat() ) 1200.0 600.0", doesnt tell me anything

AHR works out as an over time heal.

The amount heal is worked out as follows where nMaxHP is the max hp of the gadget:

nAmountRepaired= nMaxHP / gadgetRepairTime();

gadgetRepairTime()
{
if( pShip != NULL && !pShip->isOutOfCombat() )
return 1200.0f;
else
return 600.0f;
}

So for a level 6 ship, the repair rate would increase by:
Organic: 122.5
Chitin: 158.3

Add the final defence modifiers (with 48% regen):
Organic: 196.5
Chitin: 195.3

So in the end, their repair rates are nearly the same - however, they still have a large HP discrepancy, namely being:
Organic: 73,500hp
Chitin: 95,000hp

Which is near enough 30% more HP.

Chitin: 195.3

i see... this makes organic obsolete. and there's no real point in changing to organic to get significantly better rep rates...?

Chitin is 30% heaver per HP point, and also increases your signature.

at the moment i only look at repair rates. hp, signature, everything else doesnt matter.

as you stated above, chitin has more bigger rep rate than organic?

Organic: 122.5
Chitin: 158.3 (!!??)
---so is that real or just mistake?

When using chit armor you cant turn to save your life. Chit also makes your cloak time double if not more due to higher sig. You will also not be able to self rep fast enough to get back into the fight before its over. I would only use chit on stats... Anything else it will be the death of you.

Raven, everything isn't always about bigger numbers.

You say you only look at repair rates?

Have fun dying.

Work in a team, Chitin is a good choice.
Solo work, Organic is better.

Organic is always better with an exception of a handful of ships, such as mandible/siphon and stations. Being able to cloak quickly is key.

You cant kill something if you dont know where it is.

so let me get my math straight.
Effectivly chit repairs 95000 / 195.3 = 486.4
and org repairs 75300 / 196.5 = 383.2

tough decision....

Hmmm....it might be plausible to use chitin in hit and run on enemy groups...decreases likelyhood of dying during the phases...creep up cloaked....uncloak....fire....warp away....cloak. D:

Signature has no effect on cloak times anymore.

No you guys don't understand. Chit repairs slower than organic and it is very noticeable, compared o organic, even if chit does have a higher regen
Why? Because organic has less hp.
Did you know that with ahr, organic repairs nearly as fast as the natural regen of standard armor, bu then why does organic rep so fast?? Easy, much less hp.

And no, you can't hit and run with chit, organic is always better for that. Why? Because with organic you cloak nearly twice as fast as chit. Chit is for tanking, organic is for strike and fade repeat strike and fade repeat etc
It's not about the biggest numbers people!

actually, chitin is repaired in 486 seconds, and organic in 383 seconds.

guys, pls note that an armor which has 1000/1000 HP (i.e. 100% HP) is less strong than an armor which has 5000/100'000 HP (5% HP).

percentage of armor repaired does not matter, its the rate of repair in absolute terms (i.e. 196 HP/s, 195.3 HP/s) which matters, along with how much HP does the armor actually have (76000/95000 is better than 75300/75300)

and lets not forget damage resistance/weakness for armor and shields, though kluth armor are neutral towards all weapons.

in the end, using defense enhancements on UGTO and ICC has better benefit than using them on K'Luth. thats how the game is, you dont get flat bonuses across all factions, ship classes or armor types.

how about that, you're in a store, ask for some batteries and they start to tell you about TOMATOES they have and how much they weigh

thread is about defense enhacment on kluth armor and how it effects it, compared to other factions armor. stop making silly conclusion and get to the point, plane and simple.

ps>tnx mike, that gives more info i needed
