It seem to be happening when players are struggling to sync with the server (transfering from home systems, quick logging ect) and causes all players to freeze at the same time. [ This Message was edited by: Two Face on 2012-09-06 18:01 ]

It's awesome because then you can '/y lag' like 200 times and they all come in together
But yeah, lag has been bad for the past couple days. I'd actually call it more a freeze than lag.

Had a lockup when going between systems in the SY. Problem with syncing to the server? Just a guess.

Any new issue would come from the update. I saw this:
Quote:
| 1.690 - Release
- Re-factored network layer to use no threads and asynchronous sockets. |
|
Besides,
Quote:
| In Development Log
1.690 released: 2nd September 2012
1.680 released: August 23rd, 2012 |
|
As you notice, the order was changed: something must have been mistaken and thus game has become chaostic! rofl just kidding.

I used to play Astonia III, when a player would hit a lag threshold, their player model would grey out. It would hold where you were, but would drop you from the server sync as to not cause everyone else to lag. I believe this was done from the client side. When your lag decreased to within limit you could log back in. If it had not been past the quicklog time (2 mins for DS). So if you had the lag you would be timed out for high lag, to everyone else your model would lose color and everyone knew you were lag, but lag rarely effected the other players on the server.
