it'll be done when it's done, and not before.

Well, what kind of update do you want? ETA's have, historically and recently, been extremely hard to give because of the very asynchronous nature that Darkspace is developed. Developers work on the game in their free time which has, and is, consistently inconsistent thus leading to bursts of activity and sometimes long periods of stagnation (I have seen the SVN not be touched for a month and then suddenly it explodes with 50 commits in the length of a weekend).
Hence, the usual "Two Weeks" statement which may or may not imply any length of time from now to infinity.
However, I can tell you from the writing of this post, some general things that have happened as recently:
Yesterday:
- AI Ship names are now randomized again
- A progress bar to next rank is now on the website in the player's profile
Sunday:
- The armor ring effect for Out Of Combat state was changed
Last Week:
- More bug fixing and tweaking related to Command Aura's
Two Weeks ago:
- Command Aura's were added
- Lots of bug fixing
And that's pretty much it. Think about it like this: Every day is another day closer to release!

I say take your time after this release i suggest working on new plats, improving planets and FIXING the FREAKIN ship importer cause lord knows new ship models would go along way to reinvent the game

What is this "velocity bug" of which you speak?
Keep in mind that we don't always experience all bugs you guys do, so report bugs by submitting a ticket when you can and we can get back to you about them.
Similarly we are aware of two problems with orbitting: One with the auto-pilot failing to properly orbit you, and one where turning in orbit does not transmit the data to the server. We've fixed the latter, and we're looking into the former.
We just have no "velocity bug" data, and we can't fix what we don't know about.

velocity bug is where u use s or w to accelerate/slow down, the indicator bottom left shows i wanna slow down, just the speed stays where its at
for instance im flying 15 gu/sec, i brake to 5 gu/sec, slowing down stalls at 11,2 gu/sec untill i press s or w again

Could you give reproduction steps that replicate this behaviour often so I can investigate?

I sat in beta and managed to get it to reproduce somewhat reliably so it's in our bug reporter now. Thanks for bringing it to our attention
