The game considers me a midshipman, but even when I try to spawn a scout nothing happens. I can spawn in scenario. I was fine until I got the loading screen bug and had to delete the lastaddress and transferaddress fields.
(Sagi, tried all 3 factions. Rebooted computer, reinstalled DS from scratch)

Sounds like your client is having a problem receiving data from the server. I'd make sure your connection is hunky dory first.
The only other cause of this would be a database fault - but if that was the case, no-one would have rank, and I wouldn't be able to type this, let alone login or see the website.
