Do the ships in Darkspace remind you more of the ships from star trek or star wars?

In star trek the ships are of a kind of "Official" nature. Having clever devices and technologies and conveing a sence of importance.

The star wars ships give more of a sence of technical engeneering and rough "Reality" feel. Infact George Lucas deliberatly made the ships like this so that the film would be more beliveable.

So star wars or star trek. Or a bit of both mabey?

i've noticed that the ugto frigates sort of look like the enterprise in star trek. dont you ever think the mi nexus node sort of looks like the death star. (perhaps it was a beta ) i think DS is a little bit of both.

The game overall reminds me of the old, excellent Star Trek Starfleet Command games

This game was lightly based off of Babylon 5. Usually people don't notice until it is pointed out.

Luth look like a cross between Vorlons and Shadows, but other than that I don't really see any resemblances to anything else.

UGTO Dessie are white stars.
MI seem based on the Minbari.
ICC seem like later human vessels.

Combat in general (some beams, but also alot of dodgeable projectiles in the form of torps and cannons. Old layouts also had some random missiles and fighters which also is prominent in B5).

K'Luth are most definetally like Species 8472(Or the Undine as they're called in STO). They use Psi energy, their ships are organic, etc. etc.
MI are like the Borg. Obviously.
By organization, one could argue that the ICC are most like the Federation. But, by ship design, I can't find anything to compare them to in Star Trek.
UGTO, by prganization one could argue here that they're like a combination between the Klingons and the Ferengi. They are a "trade" organization, which means profits, and they are the "heavy damage" faction which kind of relates them to the Klingons...
By ship design, the UGTO really can't be compared to anything in the Star Trek universe.. not anything I can think of, anyway..

@jimjim578 actually the ugto frigates look like the variant of klingon raptor. Not a federation vessel.

The K'luth dread and including the drone engineer looks like species 8472

To me UGTO vessels you know almost gave me a feeling of vulcan ships.
The ICC Combat Dreadnought looks almost like the Klingon Dreadnought from Star Trek Starfleet Command II: OP. To be honest with you I don't know the name of that dreadnought .

UGTO should be like the federation. ICC should be Klingons. K'luth should be species 8472 (or Undine as they call it in STO). MI should be borg
and the pirates should be Orion Pirates.
