I have no clue how exactly sensors work in game (by sensors i mean the ability for a ship to detect another)
They seem to all be the same and they jsut scale up between the hull. Would it be better to have sensors strenght based on the actiall ship type?
Im just pitching in an idea real quick
Say a UGTO battledread has a Max senor range of 500GU(Totally random number for example purpose) and a minimum range of 100GU (same as above, Random)
THe Bd would be able to detect Anything that has max sig value At 500GU no matter the ship size or type (Where 0 is null and 100 is max, no 140 or -25)
And any kind fo ship no matter the Sig woudl be detect in its minimum range (CLoak cna be included)
So that means a ship with 50 sig would be detected at around 200GU
Now BD is a regular combat ship, If we Take an EAD instead, both its max and min Sensors would be far smaller, the EAD being the purpose of Dishing damage not to find Enemy ship(Making this ship easier to ambush by smalerr ships who's base sig are already(should be lower)
And the Command dread could have far mor range than the BD Making commands actually usefull a bit more
ECM would still make sig Smaller, But ECCM Could increase the Minimum sensor range, making Small ships and cloak bit easier to detect
Sall ship would have a small base sig
and the bigger the ship the bigger the base sig
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ALl this wall of text just to throw in that sensors Could vary based on the ships specialisation, Assault would have much smaller range than a command
