Basically, as far as I know, AI elites were designed to give you a fun challenge to fight. However, they're much more irritating than fun. Besides, if noone responds to my saying hi in yell and I can't see anyone, I usually log.
I suggest moving the AI elites to homesystems. This makes more sense, since when you go to homesystems some kind of AI 'boss' is in order. [ This Message was edited by: Persistance on 2012-06-09 13:52 ]

Every person i have spoken to in game (not partial) have agreed that they need to be removed / moved / changed.
This is what (imo) the players want / need, can we not make it happen for the sake of the game and everyones insanity

Over the past few days I've begun to think that it was a pet project of one of the devs....

Elites are fine, but could you give them a more defensive behavior where they keep to themselves off in empty space, but defend themselves if attacked?
The really irritating part is having them jump you out of nowhere, sometimes at a really bad moment, and because they are not balanced ships, they force you to withdraw.
If there's a lot of players on, though, elites are just food. But when the player numbers are down they're really quite a nuisance. [ This Message was edited by: Fluttershy on 2012-06-10 00:20 ]

Elites are just AI.
The only difference is there gadget load-outs and potential enhancement drops.
We can't make them sit in the corner and fight when needed. unless you guys like transports or engineer Elites..

Then could it be possible to limit them to just friendly space? since its kinda stupid for them to try and go attack somsething 2 systems away and impulse most of the way the only to never make (sounds like another AI)
