im constantly losing pres for stupid reasons on this game. i've just died in my dread because it flew into a planet even when it said i wasnt moving and this has happened countless times in the past. When i first logged on today i realised that i had lost 300 or so pres for no reason so i just think that the game wanted to take pres of me because i logged out. So basically im sick of losing pres on this game for stupid reasons and i think that i should atleast have some of the pres i've lost returned because i really enjoy playing this game but having this happen to me alot just ruins it.

There's far more ways to lose prestige than to gain it.
I'm afraid to fly a dread since they're worth 400 prestige and I don't want to smash into a planet or get killed when my internet fails or my mouse and keyboard stop functioning like last time.
Look, losing prestige for friendly fire is fine, but for dying?
Please, this is a PvP oriented game, and no matter how hard you try, eventually you're gonna get screwed by SOMETHING. Asteroids you can't see, accidently answering a distress, interdictor jumping you, orbit bug, being extremely easily tracked by the enemy, blah blah blah.

I make nothing with the Combat dessie, even when i don't die.
Kinda forces you into the bigger ships which is unfortunate.
Kinda wish there was a multiplier for dealing damage to a ship that's 2 classes above your own. (So dreads and stations would get no multiplier, while cruisers would get it against stations)
But i don't personally have a complaint against losing pres from dying, since i don't die that much and if i do it's in a small ship. (which doesn't make much pres)
I'm not trying to make a point or anything.

Losing prestige for death is fine if it was your fault, but how many of you have had internet fail, or computer freeze, or controls stop working, or some other bug cause you to die?

You could build planets in scenario up until admiral, once you get a hold of some real dreadnoughts, you should be getting more prestige.
Only thing is if you die, you're gonna be losing a lot of prestige in the process.

l'ol;z
10 ways to gain prestige, 3 ways to lose it yo
use frigates and engineers, they are safe prestige gainers
use beacon scouts, they earn you 1 prestige per beacon hit
use all-rounder cannonships, they give good prestige
use transports to capture ships, they give prestige in 2-digit values
learn how not to die in big ships, be a coward and wait until your faction has many players. then launch a team attack on the metaverse!

toby, what I meant was that despite all the ways to gain it, you can lose a days worth of it by dying once.
Look at my deaths, do I look like someone who dies a lot? I try to be careful, and yet I still get killed in all these stupid freak accidents involving game bugs and occasional problems with the computer.

If you had it your way, there would be massive inflation at all ranks. It would also mean I could suicide on top on someone endlessly and not lose pres. I like the way it is now because it forces you to play carefull and not take to many risks.

It's still really depressing to do all this stuff to get + prestige... and then you get blown up once and lose it all.
After hours of bombing and transporting, and building, and scouting, and shooting at the enemy... you lose all of it when you die
Look, I've seen people rage quit because of it.
There must be another way to discourage stupid stuff like you're mentioning.
For example, a spawn timer, not being able to fly another dreadnought for 2 hours if you get blown up. You'd just have to settle with a smaller ship for a while. [ This Message was edited by: Fluttershy on 2012-04-22 00:27 ]

still doesn't work to well cause then I could spam one of each ship class before I go to sleep and still come out on top.

Really fellas.
The QQ these days is getting ridiculous. You know what you get pres gain for and you already know what you lose pres for. Don't QQ for the game to change for your playing style. Change your playing style to suit whatever it is you're after.
