Hey guys,
I was hoping someone could recommend a good gamepad to use. I'm trying to fully make the transition from console to PC but when i'm not on Darkspace i'm usually on some FPS. Anyway, i just can't get to grips with the mouse and keyboard it just feels more detached to the movement in game, if that makes any sense.
Thanks folks!

Buy a wired xbox 360 controller if you can find one. Cheap, effective, works masterfully.

As Fattierob said, 360 controllers are generally the best console controllers, and they work perfectly with Windows.

one more for x360. its solid, well made, reasonably priced, and hella compatible with lots of stuff.
if you want something cheaper, logitech has a playstation-y line, tho the sockets for the analog sticks are (or recently were) more square shaped than round

I play consoles regularly but i do suck + dislike those controlers for FPS / 3D games. For Platform games i do like them.
So for the PC platform games i occasunally grab my controller out of the desk drawer. a Logitech Dual Action. Nice, neat and all the buttons are programmable.
The Dual Action is a bit older model but Logitech has the 'Logitech Gamepad F310' available that is about the same.
Never tried the wired X360 controler on a PC, but if frob says it handles well i know it will..

Xbox controller, it's ideal and if you have an Xbox you wouldn't have to worry about wireless cutting out or the batteries running out, the cable is also decently long, i think it's about 2 meters.
I'd say for around +£20 there's no better option. [ This Message was edited by: The Fridge on 2012-02-04 21:07 ]

Hmm this seems odd to me as I always thought that a controller never came close to the precision that you could get using a keyboard and mouse for FPSs. Perhaps you should practice with it more, you may just like it : )
Oh and you may need to just change the mouse sensitivity settings for the game. That can make a big difference for whether or not you can get that headshot. [ This Message was edited by: Silent Threat { Vier } on 2012-02-04 23:01 ]

I always hated gamepads on PCs till I went to the store and got myself one of these. Now I can really say I got to grips with it.
