I know this isn't a huge thing, but I just wanted to point it out.

When you hit Ctrl + Y, it targets the shipyard itself. The suggestion is that it should target the planet the shipyard is on, for the simple reason that jumping from low velocity makes you hit the planet if its on the other side.

The fix is to go on the nav menu, hit spacebar, and to target the planet. It would save a little time though.
Again,I know this isn't a huge thing, but I just wanted to point it out.

Actually if you just pay attention to where you are jumping, I find the ability to target the SY directly a great benefit for docking, and as for finding the closest SY, you just do as you said.

I have never been killed by jumping to a SY instead of a planet-because I don't do it. Just get in the habit. It really doesn't take that long.

P.S. Don't just jump to the SY location, but rather you should use manual targeting to position your ship as close to the SY as you can manage. Because you can use the SY at ranges shorter than 250GU, if you can just jump near it you don't have to worry about orbiting. That's what I normally do.

To use the SY at the planet I jump to I simply go to F3...select the SY...so by the time I'm in orbit I can use it. But thats just me...and a few others perhaps.

What's difficult about going to F2 and checking if your jump path line is white or red???

That code has been fixed in beta... we had a problem with the collision detection code that got fixed.

nice so the white line is better now? nice!

BTW did u also take in acount the sun? it has a bug when still in orbit of a shipyard, it shows a white line when jumping directly trough it. donno if its every sun, but it does happen when jumping from peron to kona in dres-kona.

oh and kenny: the f2 difficulties i ment where the 3 seconds it takes to load and center the screen on me, then 2 sec more to select the nearest sy then a manual point. then when i set jump i still have to align... no good during battle...

i like the komma (,) tip. that will prevent occaisions where the sy is at back of planet. Now if that could be expanden with a voice saying "collision alert" during jump to let u know there is something in path, that would help. Its already there, but a bit late. suitable timing for normal flying but i think during jump the collision alert can be a little sooner so that someone is able to still abort jump in time.

Again, just feedback combined with suggestion:) i like the work done already
