August 13th is my 10th anniversary. It's quite a milestone - in MMO years it's like a century. How many people stick around MMOs for 10 years? How many are MMOs are around for 10 years?
There's something about the simplicity of this game that keeps it more or less appealing over time.

I agree. Months ago, I looked forward to DS 10th anniversary (May 29th) but there was no event for such decade milestone.
This game has been living since it's half free and kept growing up when it's free. Is it not wonderful? No matter the golden era may come and gone, the game is still developing thanks to our gifted developer. BackSlash, Drafell, Faustus... these volunteers have made marvelous job so far. I might not agree with everything they do, however, I appreciate their effort to keep this game an ideal MMO.
This is a free game, it doesn't have any commercial event. Its long life up to now is so fanstastic that we need a celebration day to rejoy for being playing it. DS birthday should be an annually official celebration.
