Guys who play ugto.

ALL OF YOU

If an enemy is about to capture a depot planet, *SCRAP THE DEPOTS!!!!*

You do this so the enemy cannot then use that depot planet to take the rest of the cluster, system, etc and fight off defence efforts like they are peashooters firing against a tank.

You forget. ICC camping around a depot planet is still not as effective as Uggies hugging a dep. Deps don't help your shields.

They're leaving the depots intact, so when they jump back in with 10 shrooms, you guys will run, and they can have their deps back.




But that's when you scrap 'em and lose construction pres.

I agree. Scraping makes you lose construction pres, and depots dont help shields. But would the depots be useful to K'luth armour?

Kenny's right about the depots. They arn't as effective for other factions as they are for UGTO, so we'll normally leave them be.

As far as the depot nerf goes, it's not the super OP of hugging a depot planet while others waste they're time trying to kill you that I'm worried about loosing (although that is soooo fun(ny)). I haven't tried it out in beta yet, but how long is it going to take for us to fix, for example, our 2 stations, and 2-3 dreads that we just had blown up in an ICC/K'Luth attack. The ability for us to fix and get back into battle will be greatly reduced, and not just for UGTO but for everyone else too since as you all know hull takes a long time to repair with just a couple repair drones.
Fewer battles anyone?

you will have to set up supply platform clusters outside of range... and jump there whenever you need a rep

yeah Deep space supply plat farms are about to become all the rage for resupplying, but thay will never become as powerul as depots becuse thay can easily be destroyed

slower reps means you stay in dreads or lower untill a station is NEEDED.
the slower reps also promote more supply ships being flown (like the good ol days).
also setting up a plat farm around michelle is, im sure, not a problem for you either.
best place for it, one of the safest clusters to be, if you own it anyways...which you do.

People will likely rotate combat ships and only repair when they've all been blown up. That and I'm sure most people will set up home servers as repair bases and respawn from there instead of trying to fix their ships in a combat zone.

UGTO had 7 stations and 1 EAD in garage


thats been delt with too though. I pitty fool that pulls station in 1.67 without assorted fleet to protect.

soo many tools to deal with capital ships now

maby in 1.67 i can continue my march to #1 supply... made nearly 9/10 of my supply press befor depot planets. <----Sad.

New people will have a place in the fleet now.

resup plat and combat plat outpost in teh middle of deep space ftw

really helps if you can keep the locatin a secret and still jump to and fro, helps alot if your in a place with no planets of your own.

ive gotten very good at scanning space for plats.

even trained to see them beyond sensor range. (i can see them befor game tells me their there.)

Used to be one of my favorite things to do befor depot planets.

Kudos to Kluth for supplying the occasional supply base to find.
