What year are we in ?

No, i don't mean this as a joke but what year are we in based off of the MV and the world of DS. I need a person who is skilled in making "DS Soaps" to give me the exact time period that we reside in cause I believe that we've been in this time period for too long and its time to make "adaptions" and "evolution" into the years to come.
