i had a neetidea will i was plying starwars empire at war. how about adding ship hard pointsso that it easyer to capter and or distroy ships. i was jest thinking what your opinon?

Balance is hard enough as it is, and we've got a lot to work to do before anything like this even remotely comes into being considered. Personally, I don't see it working in a game like DarkSpace.

well...i know what your saying but it just wouldn't work...say shooting out the engines or shooting out the cloak device on k'luth ships....but that would maybe come in maybe darkspace 2.9 lol

In a long long time from now. EMP and system damage will work like they did before.
Shoot the rear, knock out the engines.
Shoot the front, knock out front weapons.
Target subsystem, more chance to damage that system.
Enemy ship has a red arc?
Targed a subsystem and Flux cannon/EMP it out of action..
But these days i/we have no idea how to balance that out.
So as jack said, Not going to work..

well it was a thought but if u try nexus the jupiter incident if they didnt have the crapy movement system it was alot like this the onlything that i felt was the tractorbeam is some waht usless.

What darkspace REALLY needs is a new ship for Marshall/Chief Marshall.
My thinking is a new super dread

i dont care if its a super dread or not but id rather have Super cool small ships. (Highly specialized ships Aka- bring back the WH cruiser or make a Ion cruiser, ion Dessie, and other random but cool layouts)

i agree no reason to even get marshal expect to have bragging rights but even gaining rank now or badges for that matter are so easy wouldnt matter much at all
