I managed to get to 1st leutenant by attacking a pirate station that randomly jumped by my home planet. I was using an assualt frigate, so i couldn't have beaten it. But, i would have liked to know how much health it had left to judge when i should run.
So my question is, how can i tell how much health a given ship has left?

Bottom right corver, when its selected it displays armor sheild and hull, sheild aand armor give small amounts of prestige hull gives MUCH more.
