There may be enough for your ship, but who's to say there aren't other ships in the queue that require more resources?
Shipyards now have build queues. If there are not enough resources on a planet to spawn your ship, then your ship is place into a queue. The Shipyard will consume all resources over 10k so long as there are ships in the build queue. Ships in the queue receive resources split among them, so a station will not prevent smaller ships from getting built. Only 10 ships at a time can be built by the yard, additional ships can be queued but construction will not begin until other ships are completed.

| I'd also like to see some indication of how many resources are on a SY planet. It would be useful to see such a thing from the ship select screen.

well i guess thats good for keeping order... because there was a person a while back that kept spawning ships and ignored the protests of every 1. and it would be nice to see the que because then u could see who gets the dread next. also, there should be a way to veto a ship (1 person wants 8 dreads) and a way to remove ships and other ways to manage everything. that cleaned off what was on top of my head at the moment...

Nobody really gets a ship "next" like before, and there's no need to veto ships in the queue because they aren't built 1 at a time. I don't know how resources are split between large ships like stations and small ships like destroyers, but so far there hasn't been any problems when they're both in the queue.

Basically, I take all resources over 10k, split it evenly between the first 10 ships in the queue...
If for example, there are only 2 ships in the build queue, and the resources on the planet are 15,000... 5000 resources get used, 5000 / 2 = 2500, thus each ships get's 2,500 resources towards getting built. Once a ship hit's it's resource cost, then it's removed from the queue and added into the players storage.

I thought about that... but decided against it for now, if you don't know who has ships in the queue, then you won't have anyone to yell at..
